    I am a Civil Engineer and I work as a Senior Project Manager for a global leader in Civil Engineering and Construction.

    I work within the Project Engineering function and are I am tasked with bringing and developing new ideas and inventions into workable solutions.   I can be working on design concepts by myself one day to leading a large multi discipline team the next.

    My role is to be the glue to stick everything together to make it work.

    I am currently working on a project which involves installing  solar panels as the road surface.

    It all depends on what my day involves and where I will be working, but it always starts with breakfast.

    It may be a 5am start or it may be a day where I work from home.

    I work with all of the Colas business units within the UK and with our sister companies worldwide, so I may be holding a telephone meeting in my pyjamas at midnight or on a construction site in the middle of the night.

    My role is all about finding solutions to challenges, some people call them problems, but a challenge or a problem is just something you have not found a solution for!
